From the ring to everydays life.

In the ring, as in our life, time verifies those who is stronger.
Time shows whose mind, body and soul has been prepared better.
I believe everyone will agree with me that it is not difficult to be polite and willing to understand others while we are in good mood. While everything works great for us.
It is not a big deal to help your works colleague, when everything is smooth with you duties.
It is very average to let that oncoming car drive in front of you, when you are not in a hurry and you having positive day.
It's isn't that hard to give some spare change to someone in need when your wallet is full as well as your bank account.
I am not saying that we shouldn't do it.
We definitely should!
It's up to us if we having positive thoughts and being nice to others.
It makes us feel better and doing that make world a better place.
However in life, just like in the ring what develop you as a human being as well as fighter is how you go through your hard times.
Can you stay focused and continue your plan as you are under pressure?
Can you remain calm and strongly move forward as your opponent giving you extreme resistance and trying to put you down.
How you deal with obstacles in front of you?
The way I prepare my self for both; life and fight situations is constant training of my mind, body and soul.
I set up training routine according to my weekly plans and don't matter how I feel and what follows after I am executing my plan.
My body feels tired most of the time. But I know that only by keeping strong mind and not allowing myself for excuses I can become better as a instructor, student and fighter.
One thing works for me to keep this spirit going is reminding myself everyday reasons why do I do all this?
What do I want to achieve?
And who do I wanna become?

Being the corner man.

Two minutes round.
Through that short period of time during which your brain goes over countless emotions.
You are not always able to see the opportunities you have or mistakes you make.
You are not always able to judge the situation correctly.
You got two choices: lesson to your inner self, which is probably arguing with your body.
Or you can replace your thoughts with voices from your corner.
As a fighter myself I know exactly how much you relay on your corner man taking the fight and how much it can change the way that fight goes with right help.
In these few minutes all the bond you got with your coaches and team mates can influence your performance a lot.Good vibration, trust and understanding are more important than experience itself.
Tonight me and  couple of my GuruMuayThai team mates have been coaching our 17 years old student during his fight for British title in full contact kickboxing.
Watching some of the coaches guiding their fighters, as we were waiting for our turn, brought few conclusions to my head.
If your directions are going to be chaotic and nervous, most likely that's how your fighter is going to perform.
As a leader I have to compose myself and stay calm.Talk clearly and essential.Don't try to change your fighters nature and teach him new things while in the ring or even just before the fight.
Help him to bring out the best of him.Make him believe in his abilities and feel confident.
Surely, you got to correct the mistakes but not by putting more stress and doubt on him than he has already got.
I think that this principals can be used in many other professions by other leaders to help their team achieve the best they could.

I find my inspiration everywhere!

Saturday morning. Driving my car to West London, through very peaceful and and clear (compare to last night) North circular road.Straighting up my plans of action for this weekend in my head.
Once got drawing ready in my thoughts, pressed the play button on my stereo where the newest album of Ed Sheeran has been sitting in for last few days.(Since I replaced it with the older one).
From very first sound I have begun relaxing to the music and sinking my thoughts in between the lyrics.( I am meditating while listening, if you can say that?!).
I am a great fan of Ed!
Not only because of his talent.
Because of the way he follows his dreams. Because of his bravery and hard work he put up in his life.
Because of his humbleness and helpfulness to the society at the position where all he could do is just "enjoy himself".
I have heard a bit about him from my sister in law (who also likes him),then found a bit more on the Internet.
At the age of 16 Ed has moved on his own to big city of London, following his dreams of becoming a great and recognised musician.
As a 17 already playing 315 gigs in a year being motivated by James Morissons record of 200.
At the age of 19 already achieved recognition in UK and having his first records published he buys ticket to Los Angeles and fly there without any contacts out there.
Playing on the streets, tube stations and small clubs got him to a point where he meets Jamie Fox who opens the door to a big world for talented and hard working Ed Sheeran.
I find his story supported by his creativity very inspiring and motivating.
I believe we can all fallow  our own dreams. Sky has no limits!
Limits are only in our heads!
If you believe in something, just find the way and work for it.
Don't matter what is your profession, what you dreaming about.
This way you can create something better for yourself and pull along the others.

Working on your inner self.

If we look at someones behaviour very close we can read quite a lot about himself.
Successful and confident people usually present them selves very well.
They usually got straight, chest and head up posture.
They move firmly and not avoiding eye contact.
Where people  who haven't got much confidence and they heads are troubled, usually keep they heads down and they body curved.
Their posture, movement and communication will be less energetic and composed .
How do we change it when circumstances of our lives are not getting any easier and still giving us reasons to worry?
Well the way I see it is that you got to work on two aspects.
As my coach strongly  advise, main aspect we should work on is our inner selves.
Only controlling and developing our inner selves can bring lasting changes to our life.
Of course we can keep on reminding ourselves to keep head up,straight back and compose in certain situations. But surely we can't keep it for a long time as the life will verify, and our body will immediately change under pressure.
How many of us experienced "cut off" in a stressful situation like; important exam, interview, sports championships,fight...
In the practise everything was crystal clean but at the moment of truth everything we knew was forgotten.
So guided by my coaches I train my body as a side effect of working on my inner self.
Endless repetition, drilling and improving techniques, going through new challenges at different aspects of my life. Meditation in silence, meditation in practise.
Not allowing myself to take it easy and go lazy.
In every other challenging situation I want my inner self to dictate my body what kind of action it suppose to  take.I want my mind to stay confident clean of  negative emotions and sharp to take the best  out of my performance.
This is my way of getting better as a fighter, instructor and human being.

Eating clean.

As the season gas started there is no more time for experiments.
Of course I am still in a process of learning and I am constantly making different adjustments with my training regime, diet, recovery and general progress of mine and GMMA Academy.
However I can feel it on my body that I have to settle down with few aspects of my fighting career.
Diet is something very important for me and something that I constantly learn about.
As I am going to be competing quite regular from now on.
I cannot afford to put on and drop off the weight.
I need too keep it pretty much this same for most of the time so I do not struggle when it comes to weight in and fighting day.
My body sucks all the food like sponge, after intense training during my preparation.
That's why I try to eat clean at all times.
I have experienced how hard it is to drop the weight last minute.
I have also experienced how that could affect your performance.
So I am trying honestly stick to the nutrition plan that has been created for me based on my hair test few months back.
I also got to work on my timing, sizes of portions and snacking.

Life is like surfing

"Feelings are much like waves,we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which to surf".
-Jonatan Martensson
I  have seen this, how relevant quote at one of Facebook pages I have subscribed to.
I have shared it on mine.
Isn't it how it is?!
Everyone of us can go through similar situations in life,so many different ways.
Just because we all got different experience and we choose our own wave to surf on.
In my training and fighting life I have had my ups and downs us everybody else.
But each time I have felt over I decided to stand up on the board again and try once again.
After while, just like experienced surfer you learn how to recognise good wave which you can surf on.
Wave that doesn't always have to be the safe one.You should not be afraid to drop down once again.
Wave that should bring you joy of what you are doing and deeper sense to your life.
We get many different types of waves in everyday life.
In GMMA Academy we are promoting positive attitude.
We want our students to progress in every aspect of their lives and we strongly believe that big part of that can be achieved by maintaining physical and mental fitness provided at our training.
